New Year’s Eve Concert

Daniel Harding will conduct the 2011 New Year’s Concert at Teatro La Fenice.

The concert will be performed three times: Thursday 30th December 2010 at 20.00, Friday 31st December 2010 at 16.00 and, broadcast live by RaiUno, on Saturday 1st January 2011 at 11.15.
As is now tradition, the first part of the concert will be purely for orchestra. With soloists and choir, the second part is dedicated to melodrama and will end with what has now become a tradition at the Fenice New Year’s Concerts, with the choir “Va’ Pensiero” from Nabucco and the toast “Libiam ne’ lieti calici” from Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi.
The second part of the concert on 1st January will be broadcast live by RaiUno. The following stations will also be broadcasting, either live or at a later date: Arte, WDR, Radio Classique, Albanese State Television, Croatian State Television, WDR/ARD. The concert will be published in DVD by Hardy Classics (international distribution).
The 2011 New Year’s Concert is a coproduction between Fondazione Teatro La Fenice di Venezia and Rai Uno, RaiTrade and Arte.
Tickets for the concert are on sale at a price ranging from Euro 30 to 300.
After the afternoon concert on Friday 31st December, there will be a great New Year’s party in the opera house, starting at 20.00 with a welcome drink in the foyer followed at 21.30 by the traditional dinner in the Sale Apollinee, and at midnight, after a toast, continuing in the foyer with music and dance. The dinner will be organised by Taverna La Fenice.

Agimus 2010 – Deljavan open the new season!!!

Today at 20:30 the opening concert (thanks to the pianist Alessandro Deljavan) of the 3rd Agimus Season will be held by the Sale Apollinee of the Fenice Theather.

This year’s program will be dedicated to Chopin and Shumann as this is the 200th Anniversary of his birth. Many institution will be involved: Conservatorio “Benedetto Marcello” of Venice, “Tartini” of Trieste, the Accademy of Fine Arts of Venice and many more.

Alessandro is only 22 years old, he’s graduated by the international Accademy of Como’s Lake and he won “John Giordano discretional Award”.

La Fenice for Haiti

An extraordinary concert will be held on Jan 25 at 8.30 pm, promoted by the Foundation and the Theatre employee, to raise funds to aid Haiti population.

The money will be devolved to N.P.H. Italia Francesca Rava Fundation, to finance a Paediatric Hospital.

Tomorrow night at 21:00 pm by the Fenice Theatre there will be a jazz concert to raise funds for the restoration of “Teatro Comunale Dell’Aquila”, demolished by an earthquake.
