Also this year, the historic venetian club “La Compagnia della Vela” will organize La Veleziana. On its 5th editon, this prestigious and particular boat race is going to have major changes from this year on.

The Feast of the Epiphany is celebrated on January 6, it represents the end of the holiday season, and the last day of Christmas holidays before the restart of the school in Venice.
After a long dispute wiht Naples, Venice will host, for the fist time, two dates of the Sailing American’s Cup. The event is scheduled from the 12th to the 20th of May 2012 and April 2013.
On June 12th ,a yearly boat race between the four Italian Maritime Republics that sailed the seas in medieval times is hosted, in turn, on the Mediterranean at Amalfi and Genoa, on the Arno in Pisa and on the lagoon in Venice, to commemorate the historical figures and memories of the four cities.

Dance remains as one of the last rituals which can rewrite the history of the world and reflect on its meaning. Modern dance obliges the solitude of the human body to construct paths of reflection in which concrete and abstract merge in an interact.
The Venice International Boat Show 2011 celebrates its 10th edition and changes format.
The successful event “Venice Air Festival” is back again this year and it will take place at the Nicelli airport, on the Lido island from 24th to 26th September 2011. Three exciting days that will involve not only pilots and workers of this sector but all the flight lovers.
On October 24th, a particular event will take place long the Brenta River to finish in Venice’s Historical Center.

The Regata Storica is the main event in the annual “Voga alla Veneta” rowing calendar. This unique sport has been practised in the Venetian lagoon for thousands of years and today it is particularly well-known for the spectacular historical water pageant that precedes the race. Scores of typically 16th century-style boats with gondoliers in period costume carry the Doge, the Doge’s wife and all the highest ranking Venetian officials up the Grand Canal in a brightly coloured parade.
