2013 Venice’s Film Festival

Mostra del Cinema Venezia 2013 - www.venice-tourism.com The Venice Film Festival reaches this year its 70th Edition! The program is rich and varied and as always many Movie Stars are expected to come at the Lido di Venezia: George Clooney, James Franco, Matt Demon, Scarlett Johansson, Zac Efron.
 
The project this year is special because of the 70th Anniversary. The title is Venezia 70 – Future Reloaded: 70 Directors from all over the world have received the invitation to make a short film (lasting between 60 and 90 seconds) to celebrate the Anniversary of the Exhibition. All these 70 Directors attended at least once in the past editions of the Venice Film Festival.

Anthony Caro at Museo Correr

CARO-Red-Splash  www.venice-tourism.comThe Correr Museum in the Saint Mark’s frame is the place that will host till Sunday 27th October 2013 the exhibition dedicated to the living sculptor Anthony Caro.
 
Anthony Caro isn’t new to Venice, he took part to the Biennale of Arts in 1958, 1966 and 1999. In this particular year he displayed about thirty works that cover more than fifty years of career.

His favorite material is steel, but he experimented many other solutions such as bronze, wood, lead and paper.

Roy Lichtenstein at “Magazzini del Sale”

Roy LichtensteinThe “Magazzini del Sale” (Fondazione Vedova site), will host the exhibition dedicated to Roy Lichtenstein, opened until Nov. 23rd 2013
The exhibition will display 45 works amongst them sculptures, drawings, collages and models. This is the first time that Italy hosts such amount of works from this American Pop Art genius!
 
The exhibition is focused on the Artist’s sculptures. That’s one of the reasons why this show is so important, as you know very well that this Artist is known more for its paintings than everything else. The masterpieces come from “The Roy Lichtenstein Foundation”,  “The Roy Lichtenstein Estate of New York” and from various Museums and private collections.
