New Year’s Eve Concert

Tony Cragg at Ca’ Pesaro

tony-cragg-450x359With an itinerary through the three floors of Ca’ Pesaro – from the entrance hall and small room on the ground floor, to the monumental staircase, second floor and façade overlooking the Grand Canal – the exhibition offers forty works of art, in glass, bronze, steel, plastic, wood and stone, but also drawings, preparatory sketches and watercolours, spanning thirty years activity, from the 80s to nowadays, most of which have never been on show in Italy before.

Sant’ Antonin opens after 20 Years!!!

Sant_Antonin_visitaGEP.gifThere are 27 churches in the sestiere of Castello; only Cannaregio (with 32) has more.  San Zaccaria is a must because of its drop-dead gorgeous Bellini altarpiece, but there’s much else to see including a nice gothic chapel and a crypt that you can visit.

Exhibition Titina Rota at San Giorgio

titina-rota-veneziaUntil December 31st 2010, the exhibition areas of the Nuova Manica Lunga at the Giorgio Cini Foundation will host a show of costume designs by Titina Rota (Milan 1899 – Rome 1978). A stage designer, painter and cousin of the composer Nino Rota, Titina was one of the most interesting figures in 20th-century Italian theatre.
This exhibition focused on her costumes designs for a production of Pelléas et Mélisande will be curated by Maria Ida Biggi.

Marco Tirelli at Fortuny’s Palace
