This year Palazzetto Bru Zane, where the Centre de Musique Romantique Française is located since 2009, presents its second music edition. Its purpose is to research and spread French Romantic music, especially the least known authors.
The Autumn 2010 edition includes three festivals which will take place in the marvellous room of music, and in other prestigious Venetian locations. The first festival, starting on October 2nd, is a tribute to Luigi Cherubini, 250 years after his birth, in 1760. Luigi Cherubini e i Primi Romantici (Luigi Cherubini and the First Romantics), open until November 2nd, will highlight how the composer’s genius, as well as other coeval musicians, influenced the history of music.
During Winter 2011 the association will present a repertory called “Le Salon Romantique” with concerts and conference as the one about the composer Lucien Durosoir with the presence of Luc Durosoir (son of the composer), Lionel Pons (University of Aix-Marseille, France), Myriam Chimènes (IRPMF/CNRS, Paris) John Powell (University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA)
And the next Spring 2011 a new propositon called ” From the Second Empire to the Third Republic” with interventions like the one about the composer Reynaldo Hann, bending concerts and conferences with Philippe Blay (Bibliothèque Nationale de france, Paris), Jean-Christophe Branger (University Jean Monet, Saint Etienne), Vincent Giroud (University of Franche-Comté, Besançon).
