3 Days around San Samuele In September

On September 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2010, the Quartier of San Samuele is characterized every day more in its specific part of “Island” of the Art in Venice, with the offer to the public of an articolated “catalogue of Art Gallery, antique trade, design and handicraft. some of the places will be open until 11:00 pm.

It’s an initiative promoted by commercial and receptive activities in conjuction with the opening of the new exhibitions of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (from September 04th : The Retrospective of Adolph Gottlieb) and in Palazzo Fortuny of the Biennale of Architecture and the Film Festival at the Lido.

Thanks to the support of Palazzo Grassi (which will allow free access to some works as “Memorial to the Sacred Wind”, monumental kinetic work by Jean Tinguely made in 1969, visible with the “Dancefloor” by the young artist Piotr Uklanski in the entrance hall of the ground floor) and the Venete Institute of Sciences and Arts (extraordinnary evening opening of the exhibition “Stanley Kubrick photographer” and “Dall’oggetto alla città”- exhibition realised in collaboration with National Superior School of Decorative Arts- at Palazzo Franchetti and Palazzo Loredan).
The wish it’s to trace the map of an urban route away from the touristical route but which has found during the year its own identity, aiding concretely to the development of the productive an cultural activities of the city.

Hours of Palazzo Grassi from September Thursday 02nd to Friday 03rd: Opening with free access at the Hall, to the Bookshop and
coffeeshop: from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm.
September Saturday 04th: Aperitif with jazz concert from 06:00 pm to 10:30 pm on the canal bank of Palazzo Grassi, free access
at the hall, at the bookshop and to the coffeeshop al day long.
